NODES is designed with a clear definitions of roles.
NODES offer integration both on the horisontal level from the flexibility asset to the grid company,
and on vertical level from low voltage to the transmission grid.
FLEXIBILITY ASSETS / ACTIVE DEMAND SUPPLY
Flexibility assets comes in many forms and with different characteristics. Able to deviate from planned schedule with a volume at a given price.
The flexibility asset owner can be a producer, a consumer or both, i.e a Prosumers. The Prosumer or Flexibility Asset Owner is the legal owner of the flexibility asset. The asset owner access NODES through the Flexibility Provider.
Flexibility Service Providers offering aggregated flexibility in the market. Aggregators will optimise the value of their portfolio by selling the flexibility into the market that gives best return.
Microgrids that want to buy or sell their excess flexibility will be able to do so as Flexibility Service Providers
Intraday markets allows Flexibility Service Providers to trade its flexible portfolio even when the flexibility is not needed for congestion purposes.
Markets operated by TSO. An alternative for Flexibility Service Providers. NODES market design allows for a future connection to Reserve Markets allowing for a DSO/TSO cooperation making flexibility available to all levels of the grid
Transmission System operator. The company that operates and maintains the transmission grid.
Distribution System Operator. The company that operates and maintains the distribution grid.
