NODES welcomes the Swedish regulator Energimarknadsinspektionen’s (Ei’s) approval of standardised products for local flexibility markets in Sweden. 

Standardisation lowers the barriers for market participation and Ei’s approval marks an important milestone towards the development of flexibility markets in Sweden. For Flexibility Service Providers (FSPs), standardisation makes it easier to act across markets. Standardised products can also make it easier to get started for System Operators looking to set up a market. 

The standardised products have been based on the experiences and products that have been trialled as part of local flexibility markets in Sweden. This includes Effekthandel Väst, Jämtflex and sthlmflex, where Göteborg Energi Nät, Mölndal Energi Nät, Jämtkraft Elnät, Vattenfall Eldistribution, Ellevio and E.ON Energidistribution have used the NODES Trading Platform.
