NODES AS has recently won a procurement process to extend the operation of Effekthandel Väst, a regional flexibility market, in Gothenburg and neighbouring areas. The Framework agreement awarded by Göteborg Energi Nät AB allows Göteborg Energi Nät AB and a couple of neighboring DSOs to use the NODESmarket to buy flexibility. Effekthandel Väst have been operational since 2021 serving grid areas of Göteborg Energi Nät AB and Mölndal Energi Nät AB.

Göteborg Energi Nät AB is an energy distribution operator and is managing the electricity distribution system in Sweden’s second largest city Gothenburg. Göteborg Energi Nät AB is using Effekthandel Väst to buy flexibility from flexibility asset owners in constrained areas of the network in order to show how market-based congestion management can be used to increase the efficiency of the distribution system.
