sthlmflex - Expression of Interest
sthlmflex is a research project where Svenska kraftnät (Svk), Vattenfall Eldistribution, Ellevio and E.ON Energy Distribution are trialling a flexibility market in Greater Stockholm. NODES acts as independent market operator. The regional network operators, Vattenfall Eldistribution and Ellevio, and the local network operator, E.ON Energy Distribution purchase flexibility in NODES’ hourly near term market (ShortFlex) and through tenders for seasonal contracts (LongFlex). After the ShortFlex market closes each day, flexibility that remains can participate in Svk’s manual frequency restoriation reserve (mFRR) market.
Flexibility service providers (FSPs) that are interested in participating as sellers in sthlmflex should:
i) Submit the Expression of Interest form below.
ii) Upload asset details using the Excel template.
The following deadlines apply for participation in sthlmflex during the Winter season 2022-23:
Deadline to submit the the Expression of Interest form: 2022-08-31
Deadline to upload asset details for participation in the LongFlex tender: 2022-08-31
Deadline to upload asset details for participation in the ShortFlex market: 2022-09-18
Assets that are located in E.ON Energy Distribution’s local network areas may submit the form and asset details later.
Participating assets need to be located in the grid areas shown in the map below. Two of E.ON’s local grid areas are located below the Stockholm North and South regional grid areas. These areas therefore overlap. Assets that are located in E.ON’s local network areas that are linked to the regional network can sell flexibility both at a local and regional level.
When filling out the Expression of Interest form, FSPs are only expected to provide an approximate distribution of flexibility assets between the grid areas. FSPs with assets located in E.ON’s local grid areas should include these in E.ON’s local grid areas only.
