As we close the first month of the year, positive news, growing activity and several important events are reinforcing this momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Energy Minister Highlights the Role of Flexibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Euroflex project\u2019s quarterly meeting on January 20, Norway\u2019s Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland, emphasized that flexibility is\u00a0<em>system thinking in practice<\/em>. He stated that Norway must utilise the flexible resources already present in the power system far better than today &#8211; from industrial loads to data centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aasland specifically highlighted how data center batteries and consumption profiles can relieve the grid and provide greater operational room at a time when grid capacity is scarce. Statnett describes the register as essential for opening reserve markets to small, aggregated resources &#8211; comparing its potential impact to the transformation Elhub brought to the electricity supplier market.
